Re-envisioning John Frederick Lewis: Orientalism, Then and Now
Textiles inspired by the paintings of Victorian artist John Frederick Lewis. Work for this show is being created by the Wednesday morning Advanced Textiles class at Little Ilford Baptist Church and on Monday mornings at East Ham Library. This class, which runs in term times, is also open to adults with learning disabilities. The textile co-operative that meets on Monday evenings at Green Street library has joined in. The 2019 autumn term will see Subco and The Malayalee Association becoming involved.
No booking needed - just turn up. All classes are free.
This project is funded by Awards for All, The De Lazlo Foundation, The Art Workers' Guild and The John Cutforth Charitable Trust.
