SPIDERS & SPARROWHAWKS

Rediscover the environment of Newham around you! Hidden away throughout the borough are pockets of wildlife, from Newham City Farm to patio gardens and playgrounds to Epping Forest. In this project, we will be exploring, researching and recording the plants and animals we find around us – drawing, photographing, embroidering, printing and writing about wildlife.

There will be guided walks around Epping Forest, run by the Friends of Epping Forest, and two public talks by conservation officers. We will also be producing a booklet about the local wildlife, as well as cards and printed fabrics.

Now we are nearly finished and you can start to see our work, both online and at our exhibition at Epping Forest Visitor Centre at High Beach. Join us for our Opening Day on Saturday 21 October. See our wonderful work, buy our cards, decorated papers and printed fabrics and join in our children's activities. Refreshments will be provided.

This project is run in partnership with Friends of Epping Forest, Epping Forest Centenary Trust, LBN Adult Services, Newham Resource Centre and Little Ilford Baptist Church.
